SugarCRM, the ever-growing customer relationship management company, has inked a deal with distribution giant Ingram Micro. As part of the deal, Ingram Micro’s Advanced Computing Division will be the exclusive division to carry SugarCRM.
Officially, the new Sugar 6.5 portfolio will be traditionally distributed through North America channels, but Ingram Micro also is welcoming IBM resellers into the mix, since SugarCRM will play nice with resellers “bring[ing] integrated IBM solutions to market,” too. In fact, Jeff Campbell, vice president of worldwide sales at SugarCRM, heralded the relationship, noting “the IBM competence within [Ingram Micro’s] partner base provides tremendous SugarCRM deployment possibilities for those enterprises.”
Ingram Micro’s addition of SugarCRM broadens its portfolio of CRM solutions and makes it easier for Ingram resellers to expand their own CRM opportunities. Ingram also touted the customization and ubiquity of collaboration tools as key driving factors for SugarCRM’s adoption into the Ingram fold.
What’s new in the Sugar 6.5 portfolio? Standout goodies include an overhauled UI with improved speed, automatic full-text search capabilities, dynamic calendar scheduling and improved outlook integration. For IBM resellers, there’s integration with IBM Smart Cloud for Social Business, in addition to optimizations for IBM DB2 systems and the new PureSystems units.
